As November wraps up, we take a look back at the Continentals鈥 fall seasons, highlighted by the field hockey team's advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division III championship. Here鈥檚 a look at some of photographer Josh McKee鈥檚 favorite action shots from the fall.
Trailblazing First-Gens Share Experiences
In celebration of National First-Gen Student Week, we recognized our many students who identify as 鈥渇irst-generation鈥 鈥 the first in their families to complete or pursue a bachelor鈥檚 degree. Many first-generation students arrive at Hamilton through college access program communities, such as Opportunity Programs (OP), Posse, and QuestBridge. Communications Office student writer Alejandro Sosa Hern谩ndez 鈥26 recently interviewed several first-gens to talk about being college trailblazers.
The final beam of Hamilton鈥檚 future Innovation Center has been lifted into place, marking a significant step forward in the construction of the College鈥檚 soon-to-be newest academic facility.
Hamilton's Taylor Harris '26 ended up in 77th place out of 290 finishers at the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship, which was held at the Roger Milliken Center, Spartanburg, S.C., on Nov. 22.

The national higher education publication Inside Higher Ed published an essay by President Steven Tepper titled My Conversation with AI's Ayn Rand, with the subtitle, AI may help higher ed with its viewpoint diversity challenges. The Dec. 9 piece chronicled Tepper鈥檚 exploration of his and Rand鈥檚 views on capitalism via the AI app, Claude.

Trustee David Blood 鈥81, founding and senior partner of Generation Investment Management and a leader in establishing Hamilton鈥檚 need-blind admission policy, received an honorary Doctor of Laws from the College on Dec. 5 at the annual 1812 Leadership Circle dinner in New York City.

Enzo Battaglia 鈥26 entered Columbia Law School this fall through the highly selective Accelerated Interdisciplinary Legal Education (AILE) program, which permits students to earn both a bachelor鈥檚 degree from Hamilton and a juris doctor degree from Columbia after three years of study at each institution.

This summer, Levitt Center student researchers Luke Hanson 鈥26, Delaney Patterson 鈥26, Samuel Low 鈥28, and Ton Somnug 鈥27 joined forces with Griffiss Institute CEO and Hamilton alumna Heather Hage 鈥02 to investigate the holistic impact of federal spending on the local economy. In November, the Griffiss Institute released findings from the research study.

National and regional news organizations regularly interview Hamilton faculty, staff, alumni, and students for their expertise and perspectives on current events, and to feature programs and activities on campus. November鈥檚 news topics included coverage of free speech, Democratic Socialism, and gambling, among others.
