Brent Rodriguez-Plate, professor of religious studies by special appointment, and Kasia Stempniak, a visiting assistant professor of French and Francophone Studies, will be supported in their research by the newly established Dr. Edgardo Yord谩n Humanities Faculty Endowment.

On the evening of Sept. 9, Hamilton鈥檚 Marathon Canoe Racing Team loaded up two vans and began their journey to Old Forge, N.Y., to compete in the Adirondack Canoe Classic, a.k.a. the 90-Miler.

Just like the Writing and Oral Communication centers help students hone their writing and speaking skills, Hamilton鈥檚 Quantitative & Symbolic Reasoning (QSR) Center focuses on another aspect of the College鈥檚 curriculum by assisting students taking courses with a mathematics/quantitative component or who need statistical support for theses, research, and projects.

Hamilton welcomed 51 new faculty members including eight new tenure-track in addition to visiting professors, lecturers, and teaching fellows for the 2021-22 academic year. The College is in the midst of a 10-year period, begun in 2015, during which nearly half of its faculty will reach average retirement age.

She鈥檚 become adept at whipping up a delicious breakfast for 12, and she鈥檚 proud of that, but Jana Prudhomme 鈥�19 is also gaining ground on her future. She鈥檚 the new manager of the Arbor Inn, a B&B recently purchased by the College.

Featuring four interactive works that transect the Wellin Museum鈥檚 Dietrich Exhibition Gallery, Sarah Oppenheimer: Sensitive Machine breaks down barriers among art, audience, and architecture. Tracy L. Adler, Johnson-Pote Director of the Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art, recently discussed the artist and her work.

When Americans gather in Lower Manhattan and Shanksville, Pa., to mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the work of two Hamiltonians will help them remember that tragic day.
