Three faculty members were named recipients of Hamilton鈥檚 highest awards for teaching in the 2019-20 academic year. Dean of Faculty Suzanne Keen announced the honors at the May faculty meeting.

Dean of Faculty Suzanne Keen recognized nine faculty members with Dean鈥檚 Scholarly Achievement Awards in three categories at the May 5 faculty meeting.

After studying abroad in Spain for a semester during her junior year, Charlotte Freed 鈥�20 knew she would one day return. As the recipient of a Fulbright English teaching assistantship, she鈥檒l have that opportunity starting in January.

Avery Cook 鈥�21 is using her study break time to do something constructive. She鈥檚 sewing masks for healthcare workers.

This week鈥檚 Hamilton Encore features the 91制片厂 Saxophone Ensemble performing the toe-tapping tune 鈥淏lister in the Sun,鈥� arranged by saxophonist Tyler Boudreau 鈥�20. The Sax Ensemble is part of the music department鈥檚 chamber ensemble program and is directed by Monk Rowe, the Joe Williams Director of the Jazz Archive and lecturer in saxophone.

Joanna 鈥淎nna鈥� Zhang 鈥�20 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Taiwan. The opportunity is the next step in her plans to ultimately pursue a career in nonprofit work advocating for children.

Inspired by his surgeon grandfather and his father鈥檚 recovery from cancer, Ishan Bhatia 鈥�20 will conduct cancer research in India at Tata Memorial Center in Mumbai after graduation.

Gabe Linden 鈥�20 came to Hamilton intending to go into a medical field. Hamilton connections and an internship steered him toward clinical research.

Thanks to a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship, Mary Beringause 鈥�20 has the opportunity to return to Argentina, where she studied and taught English in 2018.
