The day after her finals ended, Kim Lifton 鈥�20 did what any college student would want to do and boarded a plane to Europe. She visited places like London, England, and Angers, France, observing the remnants of medieval Western history. Unlike the typical college student, however, Lifton spent the majority of her time examining medieval manuscripts in renowned archives and traversing the region in search of depictions of Edward the Black Prince.

Paul Hart 鈥�20 is one of 200 Hamilton students conducting research or completing an internship supported by the College this summer. He's working with Associate Professor of Chemistry Max Majireck to synthesize a compound called BRD9876. BRD is essentially a selective motor protein inhibitor, and that means it targets multiple myeloma cells as a form of blood cancer.

This summer, Kenny Letts 鈥�21 is stepping on stage, putting on his dancing shoes, warming up his voice, and teaching others to do the same. He's the lead intern and performance intern for the Broadway Dreams Foundation.

Adri Cruz 鈥�21 and Andrew Projansky 鈥�21 have spent much of their summer immersed in theoretical physics research, collecting data and coding, modeling, testing, and debugging a program they created.

For Natalie Halpin 鈥�21, legal studies and the arts are not mutually exclusive, and in her internship with The Wardrobe Union (Local 764), she demonstrates just that.

Amy Glanzer 鈥�21 and Holly Hutchinson 鈥�21 both find chemistry challenging 鈥� and incredibly rewarding. They work 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. as summer research assistants for Associate Professor of Chemistry Max Majireck.

Most people would agree that history should be accessible, and for Zhaosen Guo 鈥�21, digitizing the past is the way to make that happen. He's spent the summer as a Digital Humanities Initiative research fellow.

While many students have a summer reading list, few probably have as hefty of a list as Kelly Collins 鈥�21, who spends most of each day reading and analyzing fiction.

Instructional consultant Kimberly Van Orman presented the keynote presentation 鈥淲orking with Diverse Student Perspectives: When Discussions Get Difficult鈥� on July 8. Her discussion focused on what instructors might do when a controversial class conversation becomes emotionally charged and unproductive.

WHCL is a 24-hour, non-profit, student-run, free-form radio station. Established in 1941 and located on the Hamilton campus, WHCL provides the Hamilton community with the opportunity to get their voices and music heard. WHCL typically features over 90 shows during the school year and occasionally broadcasts in the summer.
