Course Description: | This upper-level seminar is structured around three concepts that are central to the politics of AI: algorithms, "big data," and "humans in the loop." Issues discussed include algorithmic discrimination, the state of consent in the age of "big data," and the psychological toll of content moderation on social media. Explicitly interdisciplinary, a variety of methods and academic backgrounds are welcome. The course is speaking intensive. |
