Designer and artist Bruce Mau, the co-founder and CEO of the global design consultancy Massive Change Network, told the Class of 2025 that they are all designers of their own futures with the power to inspire change at Hamilton鈥檚 Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 25.

President Steven Tepper commemorated his first Employee Service Recognition luncheon on May 19 by invoking the spirit of Alexander Hamilton. The College honored employees for exceptional service and milestone anniversaries at the 41st annual event on the Dunham Green.

Dean of Faculty Ngoni Munemo recognized nine faculty members with Dean鈥檚 Scholarly Achievement Awards in three categories 鈥� career achievement, early career achievement, and notable year 鈥� at the May 6 faculty meeting.

At Hamilton鈥檚 annual Class & Charter Day convocation on May 13, 142 students were honored with academic prizes and scholarships, and faculty teaching award recipients were recognized. Delbert 鈥淒el鈥� Gonzales 鈥�25 was awarded the James Soper Merrill Prize, and Mohammad 鈥淚sa鈥� Khan 鈥�26 received the Fillius Drown Prize Scholarship. Associate Professor of Philosophy Justin Clark served as the keynote speaker.

Four 91制片厂 faculty members were awarded Hamilton鈥檚 highest awards for teaching by Dean of Faculty Ngoni Munemo. Announced during the May 6 faculty meeting, those honored were selected from among 47 nominations received from 80 students.

Three Hamilton students 鈥擥abrielle (Gaby) Guerra 鈥�27, Tzu Han (Annie) Huang 鈥�27, and Darian Torres 鈥�27 鈥� will study abroad during the next year, thanks to assistance from Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships.

As the 2024-25 academic year wraps up, we鈥檙e proud to celebrate students who have received national fellowships and scholarships, presented at conferences, and earned other recognition.

Naval Lappalainen 鈥�25 and Xavier McMahon 鈥�27 have been awarded Critical Language Scholarships (CLS) to study Russian this summer. Lappalainen, a double major in history and Russian Studies, from Wilmington, Del., will study in Kyrgyzstan, and McMahon, a double major in world politics and Russian studies from Louisville, Kentucky, will be based in Daugavpils, Latvia.

Designer and artist Bruce Mau, the co-founder and CEO of Massive Change Network, a global design consultancy in the Chicago area, will deliver Hamilton鈥檚 2025 Commencement address and receive an honorary degree on Sunday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m., in Margaret Bundy Scott Field House. A class of 568 students is expected to receive bachelor鈥檚 degrees during the Commencement ceremony.

Assistant professors Viva Horowitz (physics) and Wei Zhan (economics) were approved for tenure at the March meeting of the Board of Trustees.
