At Hamilton鈥檚 annual Class & Charter Day convocation on May 13, 142 students were honored with academic prizes and scholarships, and faculty teaching award recipients were recognized. Delbert 鈥淒el鈥 Gonzales 鈥25 was awarded the James Soper Merrill Prize, and Mohammad 鈥淚sa鈥 Khan 鈥26 received the Fillius Drown Prize Scholarship. Associate Professor of Philosophy Justin Clark served as the keynote speaker.

Naval Lappalainen 鈥25 and Xavier McMahon 鈥27 have been awarded Critical Language Scholarships (CLS) to study Russian this summer. Lappalainen, a double major in history and Russian Studies, from Wilmington, Del., will study in Kyrgyzstan, and McMahon, a double major in world politics and Russian studies from Louisville, Kentucky, will be based in Daugavpils, Latvia.

Designer and artist Bruce Mau, the co-founder and CEO of Massive Change Network, a global design consultancy in the Chicago area, will deliver Hamilton鈥檚 2025 Commencement address and receive an honorary degree on Sunday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m., in Margaret Bundy Scott Field House. A class of 568 students is expected to receive bachelor鈥檚 degrees during the Commencement ceremony.
