What’s Your Blogging Personality?
What’s Your Blogging Personality? I took a fun quiz over at Blogthings and I am quite happy with the result. It turns out, I am a Thoughtful and Considerate Blogger, which is what I was going for. I believe that there are ways to express our thoughts or ideas without necessarily hurting anyone’s feelings or stepping on anyone’s toes.
So before anything else, check out my result.
|Your Blogging Type Is Thoughtful and Considerate
You’re a well liked, though underrated, blogger. – Underrated is pretty much accurate!
You have a heart of gold and are likely to blog for a cause. – Totally! I will always help blog for a cause I believe in and yay for having a heart of gold!
You’re a peaceful blogger – no drama for you! – Real life is dramatic enough, and I don’t think anyone should dwell on the drama of life, it’s stressful and it’s infectious, although I do tend to rant a lot, I try not to be so negative and focus on the silver lining instead of the dark cloud itself.
A good listener and friend, you tend to leave thoughtful comments for others. – I have been told that I am that, and I am happy that people see me that way, because I value every friendship or relationship I have, I do my best to lift everyone’s spirits when I feel that they are down because I know what it feels like to feel alone, so I make sure that no one ever feels like that, it’s not a good feeling! I’m not perfect and I have my flaws, but I believe that a kind word can do a lot for a person who needs it the most.
Quite recently, the Philippine online world has been shaken with the Cybercrime Law that seeks to punish people who express themselves too freely and somewhat irresponsibly online. The law is on a temporary restraining order, and while it is, we appeal for it to be revised. I agree that some people should really be punished for what they post online, like sex videos without the consent of the person on the video and stuff like that. But to be penalized for writing about your thoughts about a certain topic that people may find offensive, even if it was not meant to offend anyone is just down right wrong.
We all have an opinion and we all have different styles on how to express it. I suppose we can practice to be more considerate and be more thoughtful of others’ feelings when we do express an idea or a thought that some people may feel sensitive about.
This is why when I write, I always think of:
#1. How I write/express myself without offending anyone in the process.
#2. How other people may perceive my idea or thought.
#3. How I want other people to perceive my idea or thought.
However, even though I exercise extreme thoughtfulness and consideration, you can’t please everyone, and you are bound to offend someone no matter how “nicely” you expressed your thoughts or ideas, so we have to come to terms with that fact and just do what we do. As long as we know we don’t intend to hurt anyone, I don’t think we’ll be punished or penalized for anything.
