Just Lucky, I guess*

I lost my internet connection for 2 days, and I swear I felt like I was going to go crazy. Not only did I lose potential money I can earn from my part time job as a web content writer, I also couldn't play my games on Facebook!gigil

If you know me, then you know that I don't watch the news, unless I really have to. I don't like watching the news because I don't want to keep hearing about how bad people treat each other, because on our local news, all you hear about are killings and robberies and minor theft and don't even get me started on politics, all very upsetting news, so I don't watch it. I only watch the celebrity news.jelir I read the news from the internet because I can choose what headline I want to read or watch, so I skip the news about killings and robberies and politics. So anyway, with my internet connection out and with all possible games on my lappy played and high scored, I had no choice but to sit down and watch tv. My Mother In Law was watching the news, and so I had no choice but to watch the news too. I was shocked, horrified at what I learned. Apparently a subdivision near us, like 15 minutes away from our house if you walk, had a landslide and nothing is left. I barely recognized the place when I saw a picture if it. A lot of people were trapped in their homes and a lot died.

That's not the worse part, apparently, no one can get in or out of Baguio via roads. ALL roads in or out of Baguio have been closed because of landslides, rock slides and mudslides. Last night, B told me that almost all of the gasoline stations have closed down, their supply have run out. The government has to clear up and open the roads soon because it won't be long until food becomes scarce, although I am hoping that doesn't happen. B works in a shopping mall right? Yes, and you know, despite what is happening to our city, people still shop, according to B, they were still able to reach their daily quota of something millions and they even managed to exceed their quota of a few millions. Yeah, people shop when they are upset about something.jelir

So anyway, we're okay.senyum Compared to most people, I guess we're lucky not to have suffered majorly because of Typhoon Parma (local name Pepeng). Come to think of it, losing my internet connection was the worst thing that happened to us, and for that, we thank God. May we always be this lucky and blessed. doa

I say a small prayer for all those people who have been heavily affected by the typhoon, please do the same, and thanks in advance.angel
